Embodied Healing through Connection, Movement and Play
Krystle Sivorot, MC, RCC (she/her/hers)
I am a Korean transnational adoptee, a Registered Clinical Counsellor through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist.
Through a compassionate and authentic approach, I support children, youth, adults, and families in discovering their own brilliant wisdom and purpose. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and person-centered. With strong ethics rooted in an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens, I believe healing and liberation are intertwined.
My Approach
I am a firm believer in a body oriented practice to nurture safety, connection, and joy—sessions with me may involve movement, breath, and play. I take a collaborative and client-centered approach to sessions so each session looks different depending on the person. I am also influenced by narrative therapy to address the individual and collective impacts on our healing.
As a certified Synergetic Play Therapist in addition to movement based therapy training, I work with children and parents to deepen their connection to themselves in times of distress and dysregulation. Working in authentic and attuned ways of being, children will learn how to be with challenging emotions and discover ways of regulating that work best for them. Based on current neurobiological research, this work supports healing from the body-up, working from the lowest parts of the brain up.
